Stumps Reflex Sticks are a cricket reaction and catching training aid. The ball deflects unpredictably off the sticks, so players have to read it late, react instinctively and catch under pressure, like the split-second chances that decide matches.
What Reflex Sticks train
- Reaction speed
- Hand-eye coordination
- Catching technique and softer hands
- Slip catching and close fielding
- Wicketkeeping reflexes
- Agility and footwork
Unlike repetitive catching drills, no two deflections are the same.
What's in the set
- 10 reaction-training sticks: 5 pink (5 mm diameter) and 5 white (4 mm diameter).
- 1.1 m tall, lightweight and easy to reposition.
- The two diameters deflect the ball differently, so coaches can make drills progressively harder.
Who they're for
Cricket clubs, academies, coaches and home practice, for junior and senior players, indoors or outdoors.
Catching drills
Use the two stick thicknesses to vary the challenge: start with the thinner white sticks, then move to the thicker pink ones as reactions improve. Rotate players through slip, close-catching and wicketkeeping positions so everyone works on reading a late deflection.
More fielding practice
- Practise direct hits with a single target stump on a ground spike.
- See all cricket fielding and catching aids and cricket training equipment.
